FRANK DUVENHAGE SWIMMING POOL

We are very excited to share our latest swimming pool water treatment experience all the way from Kempton Park in Gauteng. Frank Duvenhage from Bluedust Engineering Solution (www.bluedusteng.com) used our Grade 1 Ultra Clear Glass Filter Media to replace his parents Sand filter media.
The sand filter media was very dirty and stinky. The media was 5 years old. The swimming pool contained a lot of Algae and fine particles. Frank replaced the Filter Media and performed three backwash and rinse cycles immediately. Thereafter he backwashed the filter once every two days. His father in law added chlorine and a floater to assist with the treatment of the Algae. He then left the Glass Filter Media to work its magic on the contaminated water. The Filter Media was exchanged on a Friday (06/11/2020) and the swimming pool water was clean and clear that Saturday.
The week of the 9th November 2020, there was a huge hailstorm with strong winds. A pot plant fell into the water which contributed to dirt entering the water. They have three gutters with pipes that drains the rainwater into the swimming pool. Fine particles and sand tend to end up in the swimming pool when this process occurs. The swimming pool filtered for the entire day until the water flow was very weak (trapped sediments, dirt & particles was building up inside the filter). Frank then backwashed the filtered for a while. The backwash water was extremely dirty. After the backwash, the flow rate was back to normal.
Three days after the storm, the water was crystal clear, and everyone was very satisfied with results of their new filter media.
