DIRECT REPLACEMENT FOR TRADITIONAL SILICA FILTER MEDIA IN SWIMMING POOL FILTERS.
Glass Filter Media can be used to replace the sand in your swimming pool filter, doubling its performance. It prevents bio-fouling, is self-sterilising, more economical, longer-lasting, engineered to remove impurities and does not need to be recharged or replaced.
Whether yours is a salt water, chlorine or natural pool, simply replace the sand in your pool filter with Ultra Clear Glass Filter Media. It works at all temperatures and with any oxidation method. You don’t even need to purchase any new hardware.
Silica sand lasts for 2-3 years, glass media lasts for up to 25 years. It reduces the presence of bacteria. It doesn’t build up biofilm and it reduces chloramines and strong disinfectants in your water. It reduces your backwash time and required cycles, generating a water saving of 50 % and more.
Less equipment maintenance is required due to less constraint being placed on your filter system. It can filter your water down to turbidity levels of less than 0.02 NTU and a color of 0 Pt co.
Quick ROI with no additional infrastructure investment - fewer chemicals, maintenance and 50% backwash water saving.
Experience more than double the performance of an existing filtration system with 20% more water clarity.
100% Up-Cycled material, reduces environmental impact through improved performance and lasts up to 20 years.
Running a swimming pool can be expensive, and environmentally damaging. Care should be taken to reduce energy and water consumption. In an effort to reduce cost and environmental impact.
Weekly backwashing is required in sand filters to reduce built-up in pressure as a result of debris settling in the sand bed. This uses a substantial amount of water. This water is then replaced and re-heated. Both at a cost.
The density of glass improves the water flow. And as a result glass media needs less backwashing. This results in up to 50 % less water usage. Which, in turn, reduces energy and water costs.

• Remove old filter media
• Half fill the filter with water.
• Fill with Glass Filter Media
• Start normal operations
It really is that simple!
Before the first layers of filter media are introduced via the top access port, it is best to half fill the filter with water. This helps to prevent damage to the laterals or the nozzle distribution plate by the falling media.
Once all the media is inserted, perform a backwash.
After the back-wash, place the filter on a rinse phase for a few minutes. Once the rinse phase has completed and if there is sufficient water, repeat the backwash and rinse phase for a third time. The bed is now ready for service.
